Chapter 43
14 This is what the LORD your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel, says: For your sake I have sent to Babylon and brought down all their bars, and the Chaldeans in their ships of shouting. 15 I am the LORD, your Holy One, the Creator of Israel, your King. 16 This is what the LORD says, the one granting a way in the sea and a path in mighty waters. 17 The one bringing out chariot and horse, power and strength together—they lie down, they will not rise, they are extinguished like tow, they are quenched. 18 Do not remember former things, and do not consider ancient things. 19 Look, I am making a new thing; now it will spring up—do you not know it? Even my nostril/anger I will put in the wilderness a relational way, in the wasteland cosmic rivers. 20 The beasts of the field will honor me, wild oxen and daughters of the ostrich, for I have given waters in the wilderness, rivers in the wasteland, to give drink to my people, my chosen one. 21 This people I have formed for myself; they will tell my praise. 22 You did not call on me, Jacob; you wearied of me, Israel. 23 You have not brought me a lamb of your burnt offering, and you have not honored me with your sacrifices; you have not served me with a grain offering, and you have not wearied me with frankincense. 24 You have not bought reed for me with silver, nor have you saturated me with the fat of your sacrifices. Rather, you have burdened me with your sin offerings; you have wearied me with your iniquities. 25 I—I am he who blots out your transgressions for my sake, and your sins I will not remember. 26 Remind me; let us be judged together; recount your case so that you may be righteous. 27 Your first father sinned, and your intercessors—they rebelled against me. 28 I profaned the rulers of the holy place, and I gave Jacob to the ban and Israel to blasphemies.
